Rs 19 Crore Approved for Dharmapura-Barav Road in Sasaram: Deputy CM Samrat Choudhary

The Bihar government has approved a Rs 19.16 crore project to construct a 10.5 km road from Dharmapura-Barav to NH-30 in Sasaram. Deputy CM Samrat Choudhary said the project will boost rural connectivity and accelerate the region's economic and social development.

Bihar's Deputy Chief Minister Mr. Samrat Choudhary announced that the state government has approved the construction of a 10.5 km long road from Dharmapura-Barav to NH-30 under the Sasaram-1 Work Division. The project has received a total allocation of Rs 19.16 crore.

Mr. Choudhary stated that the initiative is part of the government’s commitment to enhance connectivity in rural areas. He emphasized that the new road will not only ease transportation for local residents but also significantly contribute to the economic and social development of the region.

The Deputy CM further informed that in the 2025-26 state budget, the Rural Works Department has made a provision of Rs 175 crore for various rural road construction projects. The necessary administrative and technical approvals for the Dharmapura-Barav road have already been granted.

He also added that careful consideration has been given to ensure the project’s cost and related responsibilities remain within prescribed limits.

“The construction of this road will greatly benefit the people living in nearby villages by improving mobility and access,” said Mr. Choudhary. “It will open new opportunities for local trade and uplift the region's overall infrastructure.”
